Coverage Mediations and Arbitrations

Paul Van Osselaer is a respected mediator, specializing in the mediation of cases involving insurance coverage or bad faith and cases where coverage issues seem to be preventing settlement.  He also serves as a neutral arbitrator on coverage disputes.

Paul has been on both sides of insurance coverage cases and has held several national leadership positions in the area of insurance coverage. He is a frequent speaker on mediating insurance coverage disputes to both policyholder and carrier groups. As an example of his national recognition, he currently serves as the co-chair (as “the neutral” representative) of the ADR Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee.

While Paul is based in Austin, he regularly serves as a mediator on matters outside of Austin and Texas, conducting mediations at the most convenient location agreed upon by counsel.  As an arbitrator, both private and under the AAA, Paul has presided over disputes involving millions of dollars.
